Eco cars or green vehicles

Everybody heard lately about eco cars, but what is one exactly? Well, an eco car or green vehicle how people calls it, is a friendly vehicle with the environment because it produces less harm in comparison to the normal automobiles. This type of eco car is powered by alternative fuels which scientists worked at for a few years, in order to reduce negative effects on environment. In the eco car series are included the following: hybrid electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, battery electric vehicles, compressed-air gas vehicles, clean diesel and others too. It seems that there is a solution for everything and responsible people have found some to replace the normal cars which produce a high level of pollution. Also, there are green cars with high fuel economy and the drivers don’t have to think that much about the costs of driving such a vehicle.

When and how did the first eco car appeared?

Everything began long time ago, when people were talking about the Stanley Motor Carriage Company, which produced Stanley Streamer from 1896 to 1924. Between 1832 and 1839 was invented the first crude electric carriage and soon electric cars began to appear in Europe due to the fact that they were quieter and smoother than other cars. By the end of XVII century, the idea spread in America too. Eco cars reappeared in the late 1950s and early 1960s and the first one came as the Vespa 400, produced in 5 years (1956-1961). There were 28.000 models sold that time. Several eco cars with small engines were designed in the 1960s, including the Austin Healey Sprite.

How did the people receive the idea of eco car?

People were skeptical at first, but in time things have changed. Nowadays, in Manchester there is a Taxi Firm that uses only eco cars, because they are responsible and care about the environment. They try to minimize waste by evaluating operations and ensuring customers they are as efficient as possible, along with the attempt of minimizing toxic emissions through the selection and use of its vehicles and the source of its power requirements. Hybrid cars are presently integrated into the vehicle fleet. Taxi drivers are instructed to follow certain rules and also inform passengers about the program the firm created.

What eco car should you buy?

If you ever think on buying an eco car, then maybe you should know which are best to purchase: Toyota Prius, Toyota Auris Hybrid, Skoda Fabia Greeline, Volkswagen Polo Blue Motion, Seat Ibiza Ecomotive, Lexus CT and the list may go on. Buying an eco car is a smart choice, not only because it’s cheaper and the costs are lower, but also because it helps a lot the environment.
