Office Plants – The Ultimate Office Fighting Machines
You might not know it, but there is battle under way in buildings for offices worldwide. On the one hand is the toxic gases produced by modern office equipment and other, a group of heroes surprising; regular office plants. Research has shown that modern energy-efficient office buildings are actually home to a number of potentially harmful toxic gases that are more commonly known on the streets as volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This banda contains characters such as formaldehyde, benzene and trichloroethylene that attack office workers causing sore throat, headache and irritable eyes and skin conditions.
In early 1980 the National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA) has discovered a potential solution to stop these volatile gases. Mobilising the help of Dr. Bill Wolverton, an environmental engineer, NASA has discovered that plants were covered capable of challenging the VOC and purify the air that makes it much safer for employees in office buildings. Dr. Wolverton common showed that both plants could purify and clean the polluted air and water and has led a number of other properties beneficial in our indoor spaces.
The modern energy-efficient buildings that are now living and working in VOC have provided perfect with the territory in which to reign. With much of our time spent being home, many of us in offices without windows, the distinct lack of fresh air has also led to other physical and psychological disorders that have been improved further toxic VOCs. Our productivity, creativity and general mood is depressed conditions in these ultra-efficient, where the only thing that is ultra efficient are the machinery and equipment that support VOCs.
Wolverton identified that some plants like bamboo office Palm and Madonna lily, fought for cleaning indoors battling against the VOC and reduce levels of formaldehyde airborne, benzene and trichloroethylene. With these gas hidden in the wall panels, paints, carpets and electrical equipment for office these courageous office indoor plants are locked in battle.
As an ally to these efficient green Wolverton soldiers went to work with Plants for Clean Air Council in the United States and its product results in his book “Eco Friendly House Plants”, published in 1996. The book identifies and describes the ability of 50 common house plants to reduce indoor VOC character profiles of some of the toughest and most plants can office block. Some of the greatest personalities including sisters palm Areca Palm, Palm and Lady Bamboo Palm and some family members including Ficus Ficus Alii and Ficus benjamina, not to mention the infamous Janet Craig Dracaena.
Further studies in these green heroes have also demonstrated that not only they help to combat the VOC, but who also lend a hand when it comes to reducing noise office and the moisture in indoor climates. So if you have problems with your indoor climates why not call in the green team!
